Since March 2020, when COVID-19 was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO), billions of lives have been impacted. However, one group that I think have been most affected by this dynamic situation: children.
Both BL and QM Debating Society held a historic debate earlier this term. Our esteemed president and vice-president, Rob Tucker and Numa Ali, represented BL with 2 others in a 4-man team with the QM team having 4 formidable debaters in their ranks.
After deciding to take a gap year following A levels, I worked from March 2021 to July 2021 as a Teaching Assistant in different schools throughout London.
I am the Lead Curriculum Operations Unit Manager. My role is to manage the operations unit team and, alongside my colleagues, ensure the provision of administrative support to the programmes managed by the Institute of Health Sciences Education (IHSE)

Submissions are now open for our final print issue of the year, Issue 5! The deadline for any submissions is the 16th of July 2021, and will be printed for release in early August.
We’re excited to announce that elections are open for our leadership roles next year; any student member paying subs can run and vote online during the voting period. There are 3 positions available in this AGM, all other roles will be appointed via an application process after the AGM has been completed.
As for the social side, it was trial and error. A lot of trial. A lot of error. The entirety of socialisation, from the unwritten rules that govern our interactions, to the unspoken social cues, to understanding the nuances of speech and knowing when to take meanings literally or read in between the lines; they were a complex tangle of incomprehensible messes that I felt I was banging my head against over and over.
How many people does it take to try and save a life? Clichéd openings aside, it’s a question that has given me much pause for thought when I look back and (shudder) reflect on my experiences of the last year or so.
